As sure as Christmas morning, Santa loves teachers! But few people may know that Santa’s colleagues at The Elf on the Shelf® also have a passion for supporting education. Before engaging imaginations with the enchanting story The Elf on the Shelf®: A Christmas Tradition, authors Carol V. Aebersold and Chanda A. Bell were engaging children in the classroom as public school teachers. Even after choosing to pursue publishing full time, the mother-daughter duo has kept their passion for education an important cornerstone of their child-centric endeavors. The Elf on the Shelf® offers special teacher resources, giveaways and this year Carol and Chanda will make stops at select schools during their 2014 Book Tour. Are you a teacher? Do you know a great educator? Tell them about some of these easy ways they can take advantage of The Elf on the Shelf’s free teacher resources:
Teachers can sign up for The Elf on the Shelf® Teacher Resource Center. Joining is simple (and free)! Once registered, they’ll have access to helpful activities and lesson plans that will keep the spirit of Christmas alive in their classroom year round! Teachers, click here to learn more about the resource center.
Once teachers are registered with the resource center, they are eligible to enter The Elf on the Shelf® Teacher Giveaway.
Since The Elf on the Shelf® Teacher Giveaway began two years ago, 8,600 Scout Elves have found new homes in classrooms across the nation. This year, Santa is upping the ante and sending Scout Elves—each with its own birthday suit—to 10,000 lucky K-5 teachers!
Teachers, engage with The Elf on the Shelf® on social media! Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram are up-to-date on the Scout Elves’ newest news for teachers. We love to see how teachers are spending time with their classroom elf or see pictures of the elf’s best hiding spots! If a classroom elf shares in birthday celebrations, teachers can share photos with The Elf on the Shelf® by using the hashtag #ElfBirthday.
