Make Your Own Tasty Truffle Treats

If you’re looking for a recipe that doubles as both quick and delicious, try the Scout Elves’ recipe for tasty truffles. With just a few ingredients and items needed, kids can whip up this simple taste-bud pleasing sweet snack everyone will enjoy!


You’ll Need:

Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen: Tasty Truffle Treats – The Elf on the Shelf

  • 1 can condensed milk
  • ¼ cup cocoa
  • 2 tbsp. salted butter
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
  • Tall microwave-safe bowl
  • Flat-bottomed dish
  • Whisk
  • Sprinkles (or any other toppings of your choosing)
  • Candy wrappers

Instructions:

Makes approximately 15–30 truffles

  1. POUR the cocoa powder and condensed milk into a tall microwave-safe bowl, and whisk them together.

  2. CUT the butter into small chunks, and put them in the bowl.

  3. MICROWAVE for 3 minutes.
  4. STIR the mixture with a whisk until it is smooth.

  5. MICROWAVE for an additional 3 minutes.
  6. REMOVE the bowl from the microwave, and whisk in the vanilla extract.

  7. Evenly SPREAD the mixture in a flat-bottomed dish.

  8. REFRIGERATE for 2 hours.
  9. REMOVE the mixture from the fridge, and using lightly greased hands, roll 1 ½ teaspoons of the mix into a ball. Repeat.

  10. ROLL each truffle through the toppings of your choice, and then, roll them in candy wrappers.
